1. A Link to the Past
This one wins the nostalga. Came back and beat this one for the first time mid-pandemic. It was the first game as a kid that I thought was really polished. Played the first 20 minutes of the game probably 5 times over a decade at my unlce's house. During Covid, I bought a cartridge, soldered on a new battery, and did a playthrough. I tried to play this game without looking up anything and quickly got stuck in a couple of loops. But when I beat a few of the bosses finally, I found bliss.
2. Breath of the Wild
BEAUTIFUL. I played this game with my bud, Nishiki. This one got me back into the story. First completed Zelda game for me. Absolutely loved the exploring in this game. Finding a little Korok puzzles was a blast. The expanse and the polish was fun.
3. TOTK
More BOTW. The discovery of the Depths was awesome - Loved how marketing did not show that. The music, the environment, the polish.
4. WindWaker
The music! What a beautiful game. I played on a dolphin emulator after beating Link to the Past. After beating the game, I looked up hidden things to play some more and learned that the remaster had a faster ship option, must be nice.
5. Ocarina of Time
I ALMOST played this one through as an adult without looking up guides. Had to do it when I got stuck in the water temple. Then went ahead and looked up things like getting some masks and played through. I probably watched my cousin's Nick and Taylor play this game more than I did as a kid. Came back and beat it as an adult. That was a nice bucket list game finish.
6. Majora's Mask
I have not finished this one yet. I am enjoying it. But I did stop playing when I lost my stinger sword on a reset. Will give it another look. BUT also have a hard time playing these N64 games after playing the BOTW and TOTK. Maybe the Wii Zeldas are the next to try?
